By Paul Sherlock, Official tourist guide for the Liverpool City Region

Unveiled almost 50 years to the day they last performed together in their home city, the new statue to The Beatles stands proudly on Liverpool's waterfront.

You can find more pictures and details on our "Liverpool"/news page.
The statue has been placed in the shadow of The Liver Building, Cunard Building & Port of Liverpool Building. There are no names attached, no explanation and no instruments. It captures four Liverpool lads on the cusp of international fame & fortune in 1963.

It looks superb and is a fitting tribute to the worlds greatest band and the legacy they have left on their home city. The photographic opportunities are limitless, with the background of the Pier Head & waterfront, and I hope you like the snaps which I took on the 8th December 2015.

It is a gift to the city from Cavern City Tours and I'm sure will be loved and enjoyed by the people of Merseyside & visitors for decades to come.
