Spotlight on…Venues

Any regular IBW festival-goer will tell you how many venues we have taken Beatleweek to over the years.  International Beatleweek festival has in previous years, put on events and shows in theatres, church halls and church grounds, universities, ferries to name but a few.  We delve a little deeper into three venues featuring at 2024s festival.

Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA)

Mount Street entrance to LIPA

We are excited to see the return of LIPA as a venue for IBW24.

Once The Liverpool Institute for Boys school where both Paul McCartney and George Harrison were educated, this Grade II listed building holds huge Beatles connections which will be a treat for any Beatle fan to experience. And this year our stages extend to the old Liverpool College of Art building (now a part of LIPA) where John Lennon and Stuart Sutcliffe studied in the 1950s.

With a wealth of original features from back in the day, LIPA plays home to ‘It’s Getting Better’ event on Friday 23rd August which will feature multiple stages of live music held in and around the two venues and includes the Paul McCartney Auditorium (pictured below).

17 years of the beatles ove

11 million fans have experienced our magical show, which combines Beatles music with jaw-dropping aerial artistry,
vibrant lights and projections, and high-energy choreography on the 360-degree stage.

We are also very excited to announce the show will continue at The Mirage through at least 2024,
in partnership with Hard Rock International.

Did you know The Mirage in Las Vegas is home to the official Beatles shop, the only licensed Beatles retail store in the world?

2023 Ringo 1s
On Thursday, June 15, 2023, at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles, Ringo Starr, 82, and his All Starr Band played to an sold-out crowd. Ringo, the eternal Beatle, had the exuberance fitting a man several decades younger. His energy, coupled with his remarkable drumming skills rocked the house.  The Band featured Original Santana and Journey keyboard player and vocalist, Edgar Winter.  On bass and vocals was Average White Band’s Hamish Stuart. On guitar and vocals was Men at Work’s Colin Hay.  Toto’s Steve Lukather performed on guitar and vocals. Former David Lee Roth and ELO drummer Gregg Bissonette excelled.  These talented musicians with hits from the 70’s and ‘80’s still have what it takes to put on a great show!
